Four bouts were of three rounds, the rest were of six rounds, all of 2 minute duration. In three bouts the girls wore headguards. Lightweights Becky and Anita certainly punched their weight and gave an exciting encounter as the first all-action bout. Heavyweights Hellen and Ayeshia had a hard fought fight, one woman took a count gamely got off the canvas to win the bout. maria and Nicky produced a heavy punching fight with both throwing many wild punches. Lighter Nicky tested the stamina of the heavier Marie to the full. Sheila was very nervous as she entered against club champion Maggie, but she soon settled to her task and put her training to good use giving Maggie many problems. This match provided a decisive winner. Becky came back to take on Marie in a very competative match with warnings given, as Becky resorted to unfair tactics. Blondes Anita and Nicky met in a bad tempered bout. Anita wore Nicky down with constant punching until the young blonde could take no more. The last match between Clare and Anna produced a tentative fight, both girls unable to cut loose and find the right punches to trouble the other, although they both tried very hard. Enthusiasts who were lucky enough to attend these sessions lavished much praise on them.
